In Dutch Darkness we watch a 17th century lady at her writing table. Her maid cleans. The food in the kitchen is ready for cooking. But all the time there is a tension. Why is one door locked? An experimental film shot in pixilation this film tries to upset the placid and perfect setting which Dutch painting sought to achieve. It reveals the dark secret behind the Dutch Golden Era. Dutch darkness is an independently funded – low budget short film.
