One Lucky Elephant – 2011

Where does an elephant go after a life in the circus? Sixteen years have passed since circus producer David Balding adopted Flora, the orphaned baby African elephant he lovingly raised as part of his family and made the star of his show. As Flora approaches adulthood, he realizes that she is not happy performing. Ultimately, David must face the difficult truth that the circus is no place for Flora. She needs to be with other elephants. The road to Flora’s retirement, however, is a difficult and emotional journey which tests their bond in unexpected ways. Ten years in the making, One Lucky Elephant explores the consequences of keeping wild animals in captivity, while never losing sight of the delicate love story at its heart.

Sofía – 2011

Telefilm on Spain Queen Sofia. It all starts in Corfu (Greece), in the summer of 1961. The Royal Palace of Mon Repos, summer residence of the Greek royal family, he wakes up at work. The service strives to prepare the house for some illustrious guests: the “Barcelona”, which are none other than the Spanish royal family in exile. The purpose of the visit is to formalize the relationship between Sofia, the eldest daughter of the kings of Greece Paul and Frederika, with Juan Carlos, the son of Juan de Borbón and Maria de las Mercedes. Both young intimated in London, at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Kent.

A short abstract film about love and modernity, created for inclusion in the “60 Seconds of Solitude in Year Zero” project, for which directors from all over the world created one-minute short films which were screened one time only for free on a temporary public screen, after which both the screen and the sole print of the film were burned.
