Disquiet – 2011

Disquiet uses the movement of an anonymous figure through remote environments, to examine metaphysical journeys that are made through landscapes within the mind. After travelling by foot through a dark, woodland forest, a figure enters into a desolate, desert-like world. Its journey is intercepted by a looming structure – representing visions of society, memory and need – which is explored, but ultimately rejected, leaving the figure to continue on its quest towards an unknown destination.

This longing is a form of loneliness that the foster parents struggle to overcome. The film describes the entire foster care process: a child being brought into a shelter home, a teenager’s everyday life in a foster family, and siblings preparing to return to their biological mother, after five years in a foster family.

They band welcomes fans and new conversations into their lives while sharing this time capsule collectively. The documentary features archival footage, which includes exclusive interviews juxtaposed with live video portraits. Ultimately, the purpose of the program is to incite reflection for both fans and artists and embraces the future as one voice. Included in the documentary is an exhibit whereby Incubus welcomes old and new friends into their home, their lives and their creative process.
